The first thing you need to know is. What is Owens Corning and why should you care? Owens Corning is a leading manufacturer of roofing materials. They set and hold high standards for all of their construction materials. But, what good are great materials without great roofing contractors to ensure proper installation of Owens Corning's materials? This is why Owens Corning started a program to train and test roofing contractors. Not only on their understanding of the materials but, on quality of installation as well. This program is referred to as the Owens Corning Preferred Contractor program. Owens Corning invites roofing contractors to join this program if they meet the requirements and can pass the testing and evaluations administered by Owens Corning.

Preferred Contractor Requirements



• Be an existing Owens Corning Contractor Network member
• Hold at least a $1,000,000 general liability insurance policy
• Be licensed and insured as required by your state, city, or county
• Pass a credit check
• Pass an installation workmanship inspection

Once a roofing contractor is accepted into the Preferred Contractor program they must adhere to the standards set by Owens Corning. Owens Corning evaluates a roofing contractors adherence to these standards by ongoing testing and evaluation. This includes onsite inspections of projects in progress. Being a member of the Owens Corning Preferred Contractor program offers roofing contractors many benefits. As a result, most preferred contractors deliver high quality results. So, as you can see, Owens Corning Preferred contractors are held o a higher standard than non-preferred contractors.
